Evolution of light as seen from lighting designer’s eyes
Pole-less light : levitation light made possible in the near future
This episode of concept of the near future lighting proposes Levitation Light. It’s always the dream, having a clean view at night without disturbing light poles. In the near future, this will be made possible with advance electromagnetic levitation. Advancement will be the controlling, focusing and stabilizing the object which is far away on the desired position.
The advance technology will float the secondary light source, which is a reflector that reflects light from below to the surrounding. The fixture consists of Base unit and Floating reflector. The Base unit is connected to electrical power, to create focused electromagnetic field and to supply a powerful uplight. During the day, it will levitate the Floating reflector few centimeters above ground, while at night it will push and stabilize the reflector up to 3 m high position. The powerful light source (which will be miniaturized by then) shall focus the light to the reflector, which then bounced back downward to light up the ground smoothly.
No more irritating poles 😎.. and our the landscape designer friends will be happy 😍
